The Acting Minister of International Relations and Minister of Justice and Correctional Services, also leader of Botswana delegation at MCO, Honourable Ramaotwana Nelson Ramaotwana, accompanied by the SADC Executive Secretary, Mr Elias Mpedi Magosi, undertook a working visit to the Mdalitso Food Plant in Lilongwe, a facility of Mtalimanja Holdings, on the sidelines of the 28th SADC Ordinary Meeting of the Ministerial Committee of the Organ on Politics, Defence and Security Cooperation.

Mtalimanja Holdings is an integrated agro-manufacturing enterprise and ranks among Malawi's leading multi-sectoral companies, with subsidiaries spanning agro-processing, fertiliser manufacturing, food manufacturing, as well as hotel and tourism. The Group operates manufacturing plants across four districts of Malawi, converting locally sourced raw materials into high-value consumer products. Its facilities include a peanut butter factory, a cooking oil refinery, a fortified maize flour mill, a corn puff factory and a rice plant. Together, these operations generate substantial direct and indirect employment across both urban and rural communities.

The visit underscores Botswana's continued commitment to deepening intra-SADC trade and investment cooperation, and to attracting regional investment that advances industrialisation, value addition and job creation.
